WHAT IS RACE & DANCE?
Who can benefit?
Applicable for public schools, community centers, corporations, and organizations who want to collectively process racial bias through movement.
We make it fun!
Racial awareness topics are introduced through social dance forms, ranging from across the African Diaspora, Jazz and Hip Hop, to Tik Tok dance trends.
Each session includes a dance class, historical context, learning techniques, choreography and composition modules, cultural celebration and literacy.
Available in several different packages to fit your schedule: as a 1-day workshop, or as 5-week, 8-week, and 16-week sessions.

Measuring success with survey data
With support from The Fund for Shared Insight and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, Dancewave is conducting in-depth surveys before and after Race & Dance residencies to track students’ reported growth in areas of self-esteem, confidence, grit, curiosity, self management, social capital and leadership.
